5Awesome Axe for the price.
By Trasse
You will love this guitar as I do. The neck is very easy to play. The pickups are OK but come on you can’t beat EMGS so I put galore active EMG 81/85 pickups(Zakk Wylde uses this setup) in this thing and OMG it is beyond faith how great it sounds. My buddies can’t believe how great this guitar sounds-buy it you’ll love it!

5Excellent Mid-Range Guitar
By A. Taylor
With a gig coming up soon and my cheap rip-off strat sounding excessively horrid for the duration of exercise sessions with my band, I had to go out and buy a new guitar, something more reputable. I went into a music store with regarding $500, it was a toss up among either an Epiphone Les Paul or the Ibanez RG170.
After playing “The Black Knight”, my mind was made up. It’s tone is great, the pickups are solid but most of all, I got this for fast action on the fretboard. It’s so easy to play and outstanding for soloing and lead work.
It worked perfectly for my gig and I would commend it to anyone. One of the best guitar’s you may get for the price.

4Not bad for the money
By Robert L. Magni
I purchased this as my firstborn guitar. I’ve had it for in regards to 5 months now. I like to play classic rock, hard rock, grunge, metal, and a little blues on occasion. It’s very versatile in the respect that any genre you play on it sounds gorgeous good.

It made a GREAT beginner’s guitar, but as I proceed to improve my achievements I’m starting to feel the need for a better one.
The construction is decent, there was a lot of leftover dust inside the cavities in the body from whatsoever machined the holes.
The neck feels good, and it’s finelooking easy to play. The medium frets are nice but I prefer jumbos. The entire fretboard is in truth rather nice, rosewood I believe, and still hardly shows any wear – I play assorted hours a day.

As for the pickups… I’m still using the stock powersounds, which for the most percentage are junk, I only use the bridge humbuckers because they’re the only ones that actually sound good. The neck and center pickups are muddy and leave a lot to be desired as far as output and sound quality. My neck pickups are likewise loose and vibrate when playing.

The Trem bridge on this… to say the least, is garbage. I’m finelooking sure the saddles are starting to rattle, if you use the trem, suppose it to go out of tune very easily. The entire bridge construction just seems cheap and not very strong(I think it may be starting to bend too). However you cannot suppose much out of a trem bridge at this price range.

I’ve also been plagued by fret buzz since day 1 with this guitar, I’ve had it worked on once before and it still didn’t exclusively go away, and is now coming back (Which must never take place so soon after being fixed). I’ve managed to adjust it to denigrate the buzz myself and it is not that audible unless you’re genuinely listening for it coming out of an amp.

The output jack comes loose actually easily, I’ve had to take it isolated and re-tighten it assorted times for it to even send a signal to the amp.

Now that my complaints are out of the way, this thing shreds HARD, the bridge pickups are HOT for passives, and you may genuinely lay down a heap of astounding metal riffs. I couldn’t have been happier with it as a initial guitar, and I intend on keeping it forever, but I’ve started looking for something of higher quality with a better bridge and pickups. You may play pretty much anything you like on this which is a plus, and the Ibanez tuners are genuinely beauteous good.

Another note: If you get the gloss black body – it’s fabulously hard to keep clean.

Overall it’s a decent guitar, but it’s perfective for beginners, and you in truth cannot beat what you get at this price, consequently my 4/5 stars. Expect a moderate amount of maintainence and adjusting to keep it sounding and looking good.
