If you want a Les Paul style guitar without spending a lot of cash, the Ibanez ART100 might just be what you need. Noted guitar maker Ibanez introductory made a name for themselves in the 1970′s with a cited copy of a Gibson Les Paul that was, by all accounts, far better than the instruments that Gibson themselves were making at the time. Though Ibanez was stopped by Gibson from further manufacturing the guitar, it was clear that Japanese makers were here to stay. Enter the Ibanez ART100. No Gibson lawsuits here. With this instrument, Ibanez shows that they haven’t forgotten how to make a great single cutaway guitar for a reasonable price. What are the specifics on this killer guitar? Features Performance It’s also a very beautiful guitar, with a bare fretboard except a habit Ibanez inlay on the 12th fret. It’s available in assorted finishes, but we chose the Transparent Cherry. We didn’t suppose the finish to be as problem-free as it was, but that’s what we found. Hard to believe it’s only a $300 guitar! The pickups are engineered for overdriven and distortion tones, so the clean sounds aren’t this instrument’s strong suit, but they’re not bad, peculiarly given the price. The stock pickups do a fine job, but if you want a great deal of dissimilar sounds, you could always swap out the stock pickups for a heap of replacements. Our only real complaint is that it doesn’t ship with a case, but that’s a little complaint, given the guitar’s price. The Bottom Line Name of Gear:Ibanez ART100 |
